Author Info – Lizzy Esau

I’m a federal government writer by day, fierce animal advocate, fiction and screenwriter and wildlife photographer by passion. Raised on The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Lord of the Rings, and Watership Down, I write for the outsider who senses the magic just beneath the surface—especially when no one else seems to listen.

Twelve-year-old Hakkon has always been the unchosen one. But when he receives a sacred vision—a white wolf, ancient trees, and a cryptic message: the key lies beneath—he interrupts a powerful clan ceremony to speak up. Instead of being heard, he’s branded a threat by his own mother, the One who leads them all. When she threatens to take his fangs, Hakkon flees to learn the truth and prove he’s not what they fear. He’s joined by his fierce sister Halli and a pair of troublesome ravens, Cinn and Deet, whose loyalty is as sharp as their beaks.

As they uncover a buried betrayal and a corrupted force poisoning the forest, Hakkon learns the truth: Skoll, son of a banished heir, has returned to seize the Keystone—the forest’s living heart—and he’s twisted the Howlglow into the Howlbane to do it.

For readers who love The One and Only Ivan, Watership Down, or The False Prince, Clan Grey is a story of ancient magic, dangerous truths, and quiet strength.

For the wolves!

I’m currently querying Clan Grey: Rise of Skoll, while also developing a screenplay called The Benevolent and dreaming up a new fantasy novel with storm-born powers and a painting that opens worlds.
